How to Use Retro Typist

Basic Usage

Retro Typist works like a real typewriter but with digital advantages. Start typing immediately - there's no need to create an account or sign in.

Getting Started

    Click anywhere on the paper to place your cursor and begin typing
  • 2
    Press Enter to move to the next line
  • 3
    Use Tab to indent text
  • 4
    Press Backspace to delete characters
Managing Pages
  • 1
    Click the 'Add Page' button in the left panel to add a new page
  • 2
    Select pages from the thumbnail view on the left side
  • 3
    Delete a page by clicking the trash icon on its thumbnail
Saving and Exporting

    Click 'Save' to save your document as an RTA file on your device
  • 2
    Use 'Export PNG' to save the current page as an image
  • 3
    Export the entire document as PDF with the 'Save PDF' button
  • 4
    Save all text content with the 'Save Text' option
Customizing Settings

    Adjust paper size, color, and margins in the settings panel
  • 2
    Change font type and character pitch
  • 3
    Enable or disable typewriter sounds
  • 4
    Set the tabulation width
  • 5
    Change text color using the color buttons in the bottom right
